Difference between MCB, MCCB, ELCB, RCCB, RCBO, RCD And MPCB

MCB হলো Miniature Circuit Breaker। এটি সাধারণত Low Voltage Electrical Circuit-এর Overcurrent Protection-এর জন্য ব্যবহার করা হয়।

কোনো Circuit-এ Overload বা Short Circuit হলে MCB Automatically Trip করে Circuit-কে Disconnect করে দেয়। এর ফলে Cable, Wiring এবং Electrical Equipment অতিরিক্ত Current-এর কারণে ক্ষতিগ্রস্ত হওয়ার ঝুঁকি কমে।

MCCB-এর পূর্ণরূপ Molded Case Circuit Breaker। এটি MCB-এর তুলনায় বেশি Current Rating-এর Circuit এবং Industrial Application-এর জন্য ব্যবহার করা হয়।

MCCB সাধারণত বড় Electrical Load, Distribution Panel এবং Industrial System-এ Overload ও Short Circuit Protection-এর জন্য ব্যবহার করা হয়। MCCB-কে শুধু High Voltage Circuit Breaker বলা ঠিক নয়। এটি মূলত Low Voltage Power Distribution System-এ ব্যাপকভাবে ব্যবহৃত হয়।

ELCB-এর পূর্ণরূপ Earth Leakage Circuit Breaker। এটি Earth Leakage-এর কারণে Circuit-এ অস্বাভাবিক Current Flow হলে Protection দেওয়ার জন্য ব্যবহৃত হয়। তবে পুরোনো ধরনের Voltage-Operated ELCB এবং আধুনিক RCCB-এর Working Principle এক নয়।

RCCB-এর পূর্ণরূপ Residual Current Circuit Breaker। এটি Phase এবং Neutral-এর Current-এর মধ্যে পার্থক্য বা Residual Current Detect করে। নির্ধারিত Leakage Current-এর বেশি হলে RCCB দ্রুত Circuit Disconnect করে দেয়।

RCCB-এর প্রধান উদ্দেশ্য হলো Earth Leakage-এর কারণে Electric Shock এবং Electrical Fire-এর ঝুঁকি কমানো। তবে RCCB সাধারণত Overload বা Short Circuit Protection দেয় না। তাই এর সঙ্গে আলাদা Overcurrent Protection Device যেমন MCB প্রয়োজন হতে পারে।

RCBO-এর পূর্ণরূপ Residual Current Breaker with Overcurrent Protection।

RCBO একই Device-এর মধ্যে Residual Current বা Earth Leakage Protection এবং Overcurrent Protection প্রদান করে। অর্থাৎ এটি RCCB-এর মতো Leakage Protection এবং MCB-এর মতো Overload ও Short Circuit Protection একসঙ্গে দিতে পারে।

MPCB-এর পূর্ণরূপ Motor Protection Circuit Breaker। এটি বিশেষভাবে Motor Circuit-এর Protection-এর জন্য ব্যবহার করা হয়।

MPCB সাধারণত Motor-এর Overload এবং Short Circuit Protection প্রদান করে এবং অনেক Model-এ Phase Failure বা Phase-related Protection-এর সুবিধাও থাকতে পারে।

Motor-এর Rated Current অনুযায়ী MPCB-এর Current Setting করা হয়। Motor অতিরিক্ত Current নিলে MPCB Trip করে Motor-কে Protection দিতে পারে।

সহজভাবে মনে রাখলে:

MCB → Overload + Short Circuit Protection

MCCB → Higher Current Circuit-এর Overload + Short Circuit Protection

RCCB → Residual/Earth Leakage Protection

RCBO → Residual/Earth Leakage + Overload + Short Circuit Protection

MPCB → Motor Protection

তবে কোন Device কোথায় ব্যবহার করা হবে, তা নির্ধারণ করার সময় Voltage, Current Rating, Load Type, Fault Level এবং System Design বিবেচনা করতে হবে।
